Regular Season Round 15: Spartak SP - Chevakata 66-68

Eleventh-ranked Spartak SP (1-10) gave a tough game to first ranked Chevakata (12-3) in Sankt Petersburg on Saturday. The visitors from Vologda managed to secure only two-point victory 68-66. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a great evening for Alina Zabolotskaya (179-93) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Ekaterina Terekhova (188-90) helped adding 6 points and 9 rebounds. Chevakata's coach Mladen Manojlovic used entire bench in such tough game. The best for the losing side was forward Diana Popova (183-97) with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and center Daria Safronova (194-99) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Four Spartak SP players scored in double figures. Chevakata maintains first place with 12-3 record. Spartak SP lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. They share it with Dynamo-En.IVA. Chevakata will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Spartak SP will play again at home against the league's leader Chevakata (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
