Very important is a road loss of second ranked Neftyanik (10-5) against sixth ranked MBA-2 (7-8) on Saturday night. Visiting Neftyanik was defeated by MBA-2 in a tough game in Moscow 68-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Neftyanik. MBA-2 made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Neftyanik was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for forward Kristina Savkovich (184-3) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Anastasia Bocharova (182-77) accounted for 23 points for the winning side. Svetlana Kramar (177-98) came up with 22 points and center Nadezhda Matrosova (185-93) added 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Neftyanik in the defeat. Neftyanik's coach Elena Lazutkina rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. MBA-2 maintains sixth place with 7-8 record. Neftyanik at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. MBA-2 will again play against higher ranked Neftyanik (#3) in Omsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Neftyanik will have a break next round.
