Regular Season Round 16: Enisey-2 - Samara-2 76-88

Bottom-ranked Samara-2 managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the eight-game losing streak. This time they won against eleventh-ranked Enisey-2 in Krasnoyarsk 88-76. The game was mostly controlled by Samara-2. Enisey-2 was better in second period 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Samara-2 forced 19 Enisey-2 turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Marat Tsybikov (215-1) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and guard Alexander Melnikov (186-2) who added 14 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side guard Dmitriy Sonko (196-1) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and forward Dmitriy Ivanov (196-1) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Samara-2 and four Enisey-2 players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Samara-2 (4-12) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with N.Novgorod-2. Enisey-2 at the other side dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. Samara-2 will play against higher ranked CSKA Junior (#5) in Moscow in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Enisey-2 will play at home against Avtodor-2 (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
