Regular Season Round 9: Atomeromu - Miskolc 70-69

Fifth-ranked Miskolc (4-5) gave a tough game to leader Atomeromu (9-0) in Szekszard on Sunday. Atomeromu managed to secure only one-point victory 70-69. However their fans expected easier game. 24 personal fouls committed by Miskolc helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Naturalized Serbian center Sara Krnjic (191-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Dana Evans (168-98, college: Louisville) chipped in 21 points. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Atomeromu's coach Zeljko Djokic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American point guard Leslie Vorpahl (168-95, college: Tulane) with 16 points and guard Reka Bernath (175-99) scored 15 points and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Atomeromu have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-0 record behind leader Sopron. Miskolc at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Cegledi and TFSE-MTK. Atomeromu are looking forward to face bottom-ranked PINKK-Pecsi (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Miskolc will play against the league's leader Sopron (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
