Regular Season Round 11: Sopron KC - Kormend 85-75

There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Kormend (4-6) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Sopron KC (5-7) 85-75 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American guard Rickey McGill (185-97, college: Iona) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import guard Teyvon Myers (188-94, college: WVU) helped adding 19 points and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Five Sopron KC players scored in double figures. American point guard Kamau Stokes (183-95, college: Kansas St.) responded with 25 points and 4 assists and Serbian forward Stefan Savic (200-95) scored 16 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sopron KC. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Hubner NBS. Kormend lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. Sopron KC will meet higher ranked Kaposvari (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kormend will play against KTE-Duna (#3) and hope to secure a win.
