Regular Season Round 12: Kormend - Szedeak 97-74
Date: December 15, 2021
No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Kormend (6-6) crushed at home 8th ranked Szedeak (6-6) 97-74 on Wednesday. Kormend looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kormend made 7 blocks. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by point guard Kamau Stokes (183-95, college: Kansas St.) who scored that evening 19 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Maliek White (190-98, college: Providence, agency: Mansfield and Associates) supported him with 19 points and 5 assists. Stokes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Kormend's coach Antonis Konstantinides felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by guard Tayler Persons (191-95, college: Ball St.) did not help to save the game for Szedeak. Guard Keandre Cook (196-97, college: Missouri St.) added 18 points. Five Kormend and four Szedeak players scored in double figures. Kormend moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Szedeak. Kormend will meet at home Kaposvari (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Szedeak will play against Alba (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
