Regular Season Round 11: Anorthosis - Etha 92-79

Very expected game when 11th ranked Etha (2-9) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Anorthosis (6-6) 92-79 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Anorthosis. Etha managed to win second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Anorthosis won last quarter 32-21. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Etha's 32. Anorthosis looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Michael Mallory (185-94, college: S.Connecticut) who scored 30 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Forward Orlando Parker (203-91, college: Wagner) chipped in 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Wesley Harris (203-97, college: Tennessee St.) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Johnathan Hudson (180-87, college: Texas A&M) added 28 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Anorthosis have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Anorthosis maintains sixth place with 6-6 record. Etha lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with nine games lost. Anorthosis will meet AEL (#8) in the next round. Etha will play against E.N. Paralimni and hope to secure a win.
