OPAP Basket League top team - AEK Larnaca (9-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked ENAD (1-9) 107-78. The game without a history. AEK Larnaca led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. AEK Larnaca players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a quality performance for the former international guard Iakovos Panteli (187-85) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. American power forward Eden Ewing (204-97, college: Texas Southern) accounted for 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. AEK Larnaca's coach Nikolas Papadopoulos felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Stuckey Mosley (190-96, college: JMU) came up with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Finnish guard Kalin Fisher (188-96, college: Hampton) added 16 points respectively for ENAD in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-2 record, which they share with Apoel. ENAD lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. AEK Larnaca will play against Achilleas K. (#9) in Kaimakli in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ENAD will play at home against the league's second-placed Apoel to get more than just one victory in their record.
