Very predictable result when third ranked MBA (8-3) won against on the road 10th ranked Samara (4-7) 72-56 on Saturday. MBA forced 19 Samara turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Anastasia Logunova (193-90, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners and scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Mariya Krymova (170-1) accounted for 16 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American-Puerto Rican point guard Jennifer ONeill (165-90, college: Kentucky, agency: LBM Management) came up with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Olga Novikova (180-94) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Samara in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MBA maintains third place with 8-3 record having just three points less than leader UMMC. Newly promoted Samara dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Dynamo M.. MBA's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Moscow Dynamo Moscow.
