Regular Season Round 12: PVSK-Veolia - Szedeak 93-115

Everything could happen in Pecs at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Szedeak and 10th ranked PVSK-Veolia had identical 5-6 record. But PVSK-Veolia was not able to use a home court advantage and was outscored by the opponent from Szeged 115-93 on Saturday night. Szedeak outrebounded PVSK-Veolia 43-27 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by American guard Tayler Persons (191-95, college: Ball St.) who had that evening a triple-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists and the other American import guard Keandre Cook (196-97, college: Missouri St.) supported him with 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Four Szedeak players scored in double figures. Even 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) by Serbian center Veljko Brkic (206-95) did not help to save the game for PVSK-Veolia. American point guard Samajae Haynes-Jones (183-96, college: Wichita St.) added 19 points. PVSK-Veolia's coach Dragan Aleksic gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Szedeak (6-6) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser PVSK-Veolia dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Kaposvari. Szedeak will meet at home Alba (#6) in the next round. PVSK-Veolia will play against Atomeromu (#13) in Paks and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
