Regular Season Round 11: Omonia - APOP 91-67

Everything went according to plan in Nicosia where fifth ranked Omonia (7-5) outscored 10th ranked APOP (3-8) 91-67 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Omonia. APOP managed to win fourth quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Omonia looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by APOP's players. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The best player for the winners was forward Nathan Krill (202-96, college: USF) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Donovan Smith (207-93, college: Quinnipiac) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Krill is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Omonia players scored in double figures. Coach Daniel Nelson's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Isaiah Manderson (206-94, college: S.Florida) produced 24 points and 9 rebounds and forward Justin Martin (199-90, college: SMU) added 20 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Omonia maintains fifth place with 7-5 record. APOP lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Omonia will again meet at home APOP (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. APOP will have a break next round.
