There was a surprise result in Nyiregyhaza where twelfth ranked Hubner NBS (7-10) outscored higher ranked Alba (8-9) 105-79 on Saturday. Hubner NBS shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. American guard Nigel Johnson (185-95, college: Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard CJ Bryce (196-96, college: NC State) chipped in 27 points and 7 rebounds. Johnson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Jonathan Stark (184-95, college: Murray St., agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and international point guard Marcell Pongo (194-97) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Alba's coach Matthias Zollner gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Hubner NBS moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Szedeak. Loser Alba keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Hubner NBS will meet league's second-placed Szolnok on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alba will play against PVSK-Veolia (#11) and hope to secure a win.
