Regular Season Round 13: Sparta&K MR - MBA 73-77

Very expected game when 8th ranked Spartak Vidnoye (5-8) was defeated at home by third ranked MBA (10-3) 77-73 on Sunday. MBA forced 24 Spartak Vidnoye turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. International center Zhosselina Maiga (192-96) stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and the former international point guard Karina Nizamova (170-92) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Five MBA players scored in double figures. At the losing side international Daria Repnikova (180-0) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and Polina Fedorova (189-95) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for MBA. They maintain third place with 10-3 record having just three points less than leader UMMC. Loser Spartak Vidnoye keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Dynamo M.. MBA will meet at home Dynamo NR (#6) in the next round. Spartak Vidnoye will play against Samara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
