Date: January 14, 2022
There was no surprise in Nicosia where 11th ranked Etha (4-11) was crushed by fifth ranked E.N. Paralimni (9-6) 94-55 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by E.N. Paralimni. Etha managed to win second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. E.N. Paralimni dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Etha's 24. They outrebounded Etha 42-22 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. E.N. Paralimni looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Etha's players. American power forward DeAndre Dickson (206-92, college: WWU) scored 24 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Austin Burgett (206-93, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four E.N. Paralimni players scored in double figures. American point guard Johnathan Hudson (180-87, college: Texas A&M) responded with 13 points and 8 assists and forward Michalis Kyriakides (195-97) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. E.N. Paralimni moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Omonia. Loser Etha keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. E.N.
