An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Larnaca. First ranked AEK Larnaca faced second-ranked Apoel. Host AEK Larnaca (12-2) defeated guests from Nicosia (12-3) 87-69. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by AEK Larnaca. Apoel managed to win fourth quarter 16-14. American guard Dayon Griffin (196-95, college: UCF) produced 13 points and 8 rebounds and international guard Ioannis Giannaras (187-99, agency: Wasserman) added 18 points respectively for the guests. AEK Larnaca have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-2 record. Apoel at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. AEK Larnaca are looking forward to face Anorthosis (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Apoel will play against Apollon (#8) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
