Eleventh-ranked Etha (4-11) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Omonia (9-6) in Nicosia. Omonia managed to secure only two-point victory 66-64. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Etha won third quarter 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Nathan Krill (202-96, college: USF) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Irish guard Sean Flood (188-96, college: Longwood) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Krill is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Omonia players scored in double figures. American guard Wesley Harris (203-97, college: Tennessee St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Johnathan Hudson (180-87, college: Texas A&M) added 20 points and 6 assists in the effort for Etha. Omonia have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 9-6 record, which they share with E.N. Paralimni. Etha at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Omonia will play against Achilleas K. (#10) in Kaimakli in the next round where they are favorite. Etha will play at home against AEL and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
