We should mention about the upset which took place in Limassol, where higher ranked E.N. Paralimni (9-6) lost to ninth ranked AEL (6-9) in a road game 75-81 on Sunday. E.N. Paralimni was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 25-18 charge of AEL, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 E.N. Paralimni turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Courtney Pigram (185-85, college: ETSU, agency: Interperformances) scored 26 points, 7 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and guard Alante Fenner (196-93, college: SSU) chipped in 19 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Guard Eric McClellan (193-93, college: Gonzaga) responded with 20 points and 5 assists and power forward Austin Burgett (206-93, college: Notre Dame) scored 20 points. AEL moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Apollon. Loser E.N. Paralimni dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Omonia. AEL will meet Etha (#11) in the next round. E.N. Paralimni will play against ENAD (#12) and hope to secure a win.
