Leader MBA-2 delivered the twenty first win on Monday night. This time they beat 12th ranked Samara-2 (4-23) 78-64. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 46-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. MBA-2 outrebounded Samara-2 44-32 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Samara-2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Stepan Chizhikov (196-3) who scored 23 points. Forward Kirill Esipov (195-2) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four MBA-2 players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Maxim Vlasov (203-2) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and forward Alexander Kalashnikov (196-2) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MBA-2 (21-6) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place. Samara-2 lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. MBA-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Samara-2 will play again at home against the league's leader MBA-2 (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
