Regular Season Round 28: Unics-2 - Khimki-2 67-65

Important game to mention about took place in Kazan. Seventh ranked Unics-2 (14-14) saved a 2-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Khimki-2 (19-9) 67-65 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Khimki-2 was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Unics-2 had a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Sergey Drakovskiy (191-1) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 rebounds and guard Sergey Polstyanov (194-2) who added 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side Armenian forward Alexey Chizhenok (200-1) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and guard Georgiy Vasilyev (186-1) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Khimki-2's coach Ilya Rodionov tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Unics-2 maintains seventh position with 14-14 record. Khimki-2 at the other side keeps the second place with nine games lost. They share the position with Runa-2. Unics-2 will play against Parma-2 (#9) in Perm in the next round. Khimki-2 will play on the road against N.Novgorod-2 (#8) in Nizhny Novgorod and hopes to get back on the winning track.
