There was a surprise result in Kaimakli where tenth ranked Achilleas K. (5-10) edged 4th placed Omonia (9-6) 71-68 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 19-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Isiah Brown (188, college: Weber St.) who scored 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Elvis Harvey (203-97, college: Nicholls St.) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Donovan Smith (207-93, college: Quinnipiac) who recorded 21 points and 9 rebounds and forward Nathan Krill (202-96, college: USF) added 15 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Four Omonia players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Achilleas K. maintains tenth place with 5-10 record. Omonia at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with E.N. Paralimni. Achilleas K. will meet league's second-placed Apoel in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Omonia will play against AEL in Limassol and hope to secure a win.
