There was a small surprise in Szeged where tenth ranked Szedeak (9-11) outscored 8th ranked Duna Aszfalt (9-11) 102-67 on Saturday. Szedeak made 18-of-18 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Szedeak outrebounded Duna Aszfalt 44-26 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Kristof Bognar (205-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Tayler Persons (191-95, college: Ball St.) who added 18 points and 10 assists during the contest. Five Szedeak players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Krisztian Wittmann (185-85) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Xavier Pollard (193-91, college: Kent St.) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Szedeak moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Duna Aszfalt and OSE Lions. Duna Aszfalt lost third consecutive game. Szedeak will meet at home Atomeromu (#13) in the next round where they are favorite. Duna Aszfalt will play against the league's second-placed Szolnok (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
