The game in Paphou was also quite interesting. Third ranked Keravnos (11-3) played at the court of 7th ranked APOP (6-9). Keravnos managed to secure a 4-point victory 101-97 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of APOP. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-14. But APOP won second period 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Keravnos made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Deondre Burns (190-97, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) who scored 28 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Collin Malcolm (200-97, college: WPU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. Malcolm is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Justin Martin (199-90, college: SMU) who recorded 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and the other American import point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) added 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Keravnos maintains third place with 11-3 record having just three points less than leader AEK Larnaca. APOP at the other side keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Apollon and AEL. Keravnos will meet at home E.N. Paralimni (#4) in the next round. APOP will play against the league's leader AEK Larnaca and hope to secure a win.
