There was an upset in Limassol where higher ranked Omonia (9-7) was edged by ninth ranked AEL (7-9) 75-74 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 25-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American center DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard Courtney Pigram (185-85, college: ETSU, agency: Interperformances) who added 23 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward Nathan Krill (202-96, college: USF) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and Irish guard Sean Flood (188-96, college: Longwood) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Omonia players scored in double figures. AEL moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Apollon and Anorthosis. Loser Omonia dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with E.N. Paralimni. AEL will meet Achilleas K. (#10) in the next round. Omonia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nicosia ENAD.
