Regular Season Round 21: ZTE KK - DEAC 91-67
Date: February 5, 2022
Bottom-ranked ZTE KK managed to get a sixth victory. This time they outleveled fifth-ranked DEAC in Zalaegerszeg 91-67. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 24-point difference proves that ZTE KK was well-prepared to that game. ZTE KK outrebounded DEAC 38-23 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Point guard Derrick Wilson (185-92, college: Marquette, agency: Network Sports International) stepped up and scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and forward Jonathan Holton (206-91, college: WVU, agency: GoEmpire Group) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Five ZTE KK players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Josh Hagins (187-94, college: UALR, agency: Haylett Sports) with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Xavier Thames (191-91, college: SDSU, agency: Slash Sports) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ZTE KK (6-15) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Atomeromu. DEAC at the other side dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Alba. ZTE KK will play against higher ranked Hubner NBS (#11) in Nyiregyhaza in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. DEAC will play at home against OSE Lions (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
