Regular Season Round 17: Omonia - ENAD 80-52

Very expected game when 12th ranked ENAD (1-15) was smashed by fifth ranked Omonia (10-7) in Nicosia 80-52 on Sunday. The game without a history. Omonia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ENAD to just 5 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded ENAD 52-37 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Omonia looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by ENAD's players. American forward Nathan Krill (202-96, college: USF) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 20 rebounds for the winning side and guard Michalis Mythillos (190-98) accounted for 21 points and 7 assists. Krill is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Omonia players scored in double figures. Omonia's coach Daniel Nelson felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international power forward Christos Panayiotou (197-91) came up with 13 points and 9 rebounds and Alexandros Panagides added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for ENAD in the defeat. Omonia moved-up to fourth place, which they share with E.N. Paralimni. ENAD lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Omonia will meet higher ranked Keravnos (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ENAD will play against AEL (#7) and hope to win that game.
