Very significant was Anorthosis' (#2, 11-3) victory against 4th ranked ENAD (4-8) 66-51. The game was mostly controlled by Anorthosis. ENAD was better in third quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded ENAD 48-34 including 34 on the defensive glass. The former international guard Antria Pitsilidou (167-89) notched 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international forward Tijana Raca (183-97, college: Wyoming) supported her with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Anorthosis' coach Aristos Aristou allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 23 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals by American-Filipino guard Gabi Bade (173-96, college: Sacramento St.) did not help to save the game for ENAD. Forward Athina Papagianni (176-95) added 8 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Defending champion (11-3) used an opportunity after AEL lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. ENAD lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with eight games lost. Anorthosis will play against Keravnos (#5) in Nicosia in the next round. ENAD will play at home against the league's leader AEL and hopes to get back on the winning track.
