Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Apollon (8-9) rolled over 9th ranked APOP (6-11) in Paphou 86-59 on Monday. The game without a history. Apollon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding APOP to just 7 points in first quarter. Apollon dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to APOP's 18. They outrebounded APOP 44-25 including a 29-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Sayeed Pridgett (196-98, college: Montana) nailed 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Michael Finke (208-96, college: GCU) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Finke is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Apollon players scored in double figures. American forward Justin Martin (199-90, college: SMU) came up with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Aristidis Christou (187-96) added 11 points respectively for APOP in the defeat. Apollon moved-up to sixth place. APOP lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Achilleas K.. Apollon will meet at home higher ranked E.N.
