Regular Season Round 18: ENAD - AEL 63-91
Date: February 11, 2022
Very predictable result in Nicosia where seventh ranked AEL (8-10) smashed bottom-ranked ENAD (1-16) 91-63. The game was mostly controlled by AEL. ENAD was better in fourth quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American guard Courtney Pigram (185-85, college: ETSU, agency: Interperformances) notched 28 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and the other American import center DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) supported him with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Even a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds by the former international power forward Christos Panayiotou (197-91) did not help to save the game for ENAD. Antreas Vlachos added 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AEL maintains seventh position with 8-10 record. ENAD lost eleventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. AEL will play against higher ranked Keravnos (#3) in Strovolos in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. ENAD will play on the road against Achilleas K. (#9) in Kaimakli to get more than just one victory in their record.
