OPAP Basket League top team - AEK Larnaca (15-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Etha (5-13) 100-61. The game without a history. AEK Larnaca led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. AEK Larnaca outrebounded Etha 46-23 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 70.0 percentage. AEK Larnaca looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Etha's players. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Eden Ewing (204-97, college: Texas Southern) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Quentin Snider (188-95, college: Louisville, agency: GoEmpire Group) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four AEK Larnaca players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Johnathan Hudson (180-87, college: Texas A&M) with 27 points and 4 assists and guard Wesley Harris (203-97, college: Tennessee St.) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 15-3 record, which they share with Apoel. Etha at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 13 games lost. AEK Larnaca is looking forward to face Omonia (#5) in Nicosia in the next round. Etha will play at home against Apollon (#6) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
