No shocking result in a game in Nicosia where second ranked Anorthosis (12-3) smashed 5th ranked Keravnos (3-12) 56-27 on Sunday. The game without a history. Anorthosis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Keravnos to just 4 points in second quarter and to 12 points in second half. Anorthosis held Keravnos to an opponent 22.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.0 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Keravnos 38-26 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for the former international forward Tijana Raca (183-97, college: Wyoming) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Christiana Menelaou (158-90) helped adding 5 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Coach Aristos Aristou's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was guard Panagiota Kyriakou (177-3) with 10 points and 9 rebounds and forward Rafaelia Kasini (186-4) scored 8 points. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with AEL. Keravnos lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost.
