Regular Season Round 23: Szedeak - DEAC 100-98
Date: February 16, 2022
There was a small surprise in Szeged where ninth ranked Szedeak (11-12) edged 6th ranked DEAC (12-11) 100-98 on Wednesday. It was a great evening for American guard Tayler Persons (191-1995, college: Ball St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import point guard Rashun Davis (182-1993, college: Radford, agency: PEPI SPORT) helped adding 18 points and 5 assists. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Serbian swingman Djordje Drenovac (201-1992) responded with 24 points and American guard Xavier Thames (191-1991, college: SDSU, agency: Slash Sports) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. DEAC's coach Giorgos Vovoras tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Szedeak moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Duna Aszfalt. Loser DEAC dropped to the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Alba and Kaposvari. Szedeak will meet Hubner NBS (#11) in the next round. DEAC will play against Atomeromu (#14) and hope to secure a win.
