There was a minor upset in Szekesfehervar where 5th ranked Kaposvari (12-11) was defeated by seventh ranked Alba (12-11) 96-92 on Wednesday. Alba made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for international swingman David Vojvoda (195-1990) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 4 assists. International point guard Marcell Pongo (194-1997, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Alba's coach Matthias Zollner used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Nimrod Hilliard IV (183-1993, college: NCCU) responded with 26 points and 4 assists and the other American import forward Wayne Martin (201-1993, college: Tennessee St., agency: Octagon Europe) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Alba moved-up to fifth place, which they share with DEAC and Kaposvari. Alba will meet ZTE KK (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kaposvari will play against the league's second-placed Szolnok (#2) and hope to secure a win.
