Rather expected game in Paphou where 10th ranked APOP (6-13) was defeated by eighth ranked Anorthosis (8-10) 94-86 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-86. Anorthosis dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to APOP's 38. They outrebounded APOP 51-27 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Anorthosis looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Orlando Parker (203-1991, college: Wagner) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Forward Nick Banyard (203-1994, college: UCF, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Dee Davis (178-1993, college: Xavier, agency: Inception Sports) produced 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and forward Justin Martin (199-1990, college: SMU) added 20 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Anorthosis moved-up to seventh place. APOP lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Anorthosis will meet at home higher ranked E.N. Paralimni (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. APOP will play against Achilleas K. (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
