Regular Season Round 18: Wallabies - Villars 72-51
Date: February 26, 2022
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Wallabies (10-7) crushed one of their biggest challengers Villars (10-6) in Kuesnacht-Erlenbach 72-51 on Saturday. Bosnian point guard Bojan Sekicki (188-1987) notched 18 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and American forward Zeke Crawford (201-1999, college: Lewis & Clark) supported him with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Crawford is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 13 points and 6 rebounds by Kosovan point guard Etrit Dibrani (180-1996) did not help to save the game for Villars. Forward Nicolas Reghif (196-1989) added 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wallabies have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 10-7 record. Villars lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with six games lost. Wallabies will meet Pully (#7) on the road in the next round. Villars will play against Academie Fribourg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
