Regular Season Round 39: Chevakata - Spartak SP 62-60
Date: February 26, 2022
Not a big story in a game in Vologda where 10th ranked Spartak SP (8-26) was edged by fourth ranked Chevakata (21-11) 62-60 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Chevakata forced 19 Spartak SP turnovers and outrebounded them 45-23 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Chevakata made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Elena Mikhaylova (183-2000) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Alina Zabolotskaya (179-1993) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Chevakata's coach Mladen Manojlovic used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Diana Popova (183-1997) who recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Ekaterina Krylova (173-2000) added 16 points respectively. Chevakata moved-up to third place. Loser Spartak SP keeps the tenth position with 26 games lost. Chevakata will again meet at home Spartak SP (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spartak SP will have a break next round.
