There was no surprise in Maykop where 8th ranked Novomoskovsk (13-21) was defeated by fifth ranked Dynamo-MGTU (20-16) 86-72. Dynamo-MGTU players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Ilia Aleksandrov (194-1981) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. Alexandr Milyutin (198-1997) contributed with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Dynamo-MGTU players scored in double figures. Forward Stanislav Sotnikov (200-1985, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Spanish power forward Dmitriy Flis (204-1984) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Novomoskovsk.
