Very expected game when 11th ranked Etha (5-15) was smashed by second ranked Apoel (16-3) in Nicosia 88-59 on Saturday. The game without a history. Apoel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Apoel looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated also this game. The winners were led by forward Travin Thibodeaux (203-1996, college: New Orleans) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and swingman SirDominic Pointer (198-1992, college: St.John's) supported him with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Apoel players scored in double figures. Apoel's coach Marios Argyrou felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds by guard Wesley Harris (203-1997, college: Tennessee St.) did not help to save the game for Etha. Point guard Johnathan Hudson (180-1987, college: Texas A&M) added 15 points and 7 assists for the guests. Apoel have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 16-3 record behind leader AEK Larnaca, which they share with Keravnos. Etha lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 15 games lost.
