Regular Season Round 24: Szombathely - Duna Aszfalt 97-76

A Division top team - Szombathely (21-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Duna Aszfalt (11-13) 97-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Duna Aszfalt. Szombathely dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Duna Aszfalt's 38. They outrebounded Duna Aszfalt 41-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. Szombathely players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of international Zoltan Perl (195-1995, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and the former international forward Gyorgy Goloman (211-1996, college: UCLA) who added 22 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Szombathely's coach Milos Konakov felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Xavier Pollard (193-1991, college: Kent St.) with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Slovenian Jaka Klobucar (198-1987) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Szombathely have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 21-3 record. Duna Aszfalt at the other side dropped to the eighth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Szedeak and OSE Lions. Szombathely will play against DEAC (#5) in Debrecen in the next round. Duna Aszfalt will play at home against Kormend and hopes to get back on the winning track.
