Regular Season Round 24: Kormend - Sopron KC 84-77

The most important game in the last round took place in Kormend between third ranked Sopron KC (15-9) and fourth ranked Kormend (15-9) on Saturday night. Sopron KC was defeated by Kormend in a tough game on the road 77-84. It was a good game for American point guard Kamau Stokes (183-1995, college: Kansas St.) who led his team to a victory with 27 points. Serbian forward Stefan Savic (200-1995) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Stokes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American power forward EJ Montgomery (208-1999, college: Kentucky) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Myles Mack (178-1993, college: Rutgers) added 18 points and 5 assists in the effort for Sopron KC. Four Kormend and five Sopron KC players scored in double figures. Sopron KC's coach Kostas Flevarakis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kormend moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Sopron KC. Kormend is looking forward to face Duna Aszfalt (#10) in Kecskemet in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sopron KC will play at home against Kaposvari (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
