Regular Season Round 22: Swiss Central - Boncourt 85-87
Date: March 16, 2022
The most exciting game of round 22 in the SBL took place in Luzern. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Swiss Central (10-11) to seventh ranked Boncourt (8-13) 87-85 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Swiss Central. American point guard Derek Jackson (187-1991, college: Kent St.) fired 20 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The other American import swingman Brent Jackson (193-1994, college: Columbus St.) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Belgian center Stan Leemans (203-1992) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American point guard Antwoine Anderson (187-1995, college: UConn) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Five Boncourt and four Swiss Central players scored in double figures. Swiss Central's coach Orlando Baer rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Boncourt maintains seventh position with 8-13 record. Newly promoted Swiss Central keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. Boncourt are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Lugano (#10) at home in the next round. Swiss Central will play against Nyon (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
