There was no surprise in Pecs where 12th ranked PVSK-Veolia (7-18) was defeated by second ranked Szolnok (17-8) 89-81 on Wednesday. Croatian center Marjan Cakarun (204-1990) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international Peter Kovacs (191-1988) chipped in 15 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American guard Donovan Donaldson (185-1996, college: Tusculum) produced 22 points and 5 assists and Serbian center Veljko Brkic (206-1995) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. PVSK-Veolia's coach Dragan Aleksic tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Szolnok have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 17-8 record having five points less than leader Szombathely. PVSK-Veolia lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 18 games lost. They share it with Atomeromu. Szolnok will meet OSE Lions (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
