There was an upset in Kecskemet where 4th placed Kormend (15-10) was crushed by tenth ranked Duna Aszfalt (12-13) 93-67 on Friday. Duna Aszfalt outrebounded Kormend 41-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Duna Aszfalt made 7 blocks. The former international center Kemal Karahodzic (210-1989) fired 25 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Xavier Pollard (193-1991, college: Kent St.) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Duna Aszfalt players scored in double figures. American guard Maliek White (190-1998, college: Providence) produced 19 points and 5 assists and Ralf Martinez (202-2000) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
