Everything could happen in Paks at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked ZTE KK and 13th ranked Atomeromu had identical 2-1 record. But Atomeromu was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Zalaegerszeg 78-69 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. ZTE KK made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Jordan Barnett (201-1995, college: Missouri) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Derrick Wilson (185-1992, college: Marquette, agency: Network Sports International) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. The former international power forward Janos Eilingsfeld (198-1991) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Deshon Taylor (188-1996, college: Fresno St.) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. ZTE KK (3-1) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Atomeromu dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. ZTE KK will meet at home bottom-ranked PVSK-Veolia (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Atomeromu will play against Hubner NBS (#11) and hope to secure a win.
