Second Stage Round 8: Sopron KC - Szombathely 70-81

A Division top team - Szombathely (28-4) managed to deliver another win on Wednesday. This time they beat fifth ranked Sopron KC (17-16) 81-70. Szombathely looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was international Zoltan Perl (195-1995, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 25 points and 4 assists. International point guard Adam Somogyi (191-2000) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Szombathely players scored in double figures. American guard Teyvon Myers (188-1994, college: WVU) produced 22 points and his fellow American import forward Quincy Ford (203-1993, college: Northeastern) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 28-4 record which they share with defeated Sopron KC. Loser Sopron KC still keeps top place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Duna Aszfalt and OSE Lions. Szombathely will meet Kormend (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sopron KC will have a break next round.
