Regular Season Round 3: Swiss Central - Nyon 62-104
Date: October 16, 2022
But Swiss Central was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from Nyon 104-62 on Sunday night. Nyon made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Swiss Central turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Swiss Central's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Colin Dougherty (193-1996, college: Hobart) who scored 28 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The former international point guard Jeremy Jaunin (170-1991) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 assists. Four Nyon players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian power forward Julian Roche (211-1997, college: Simon Fraser) who recorded 12 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Trevion Lamar (196-1999, college: Catawba) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nyon will meet Fribourg (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Swiss Central will play against Monthey (#2) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
