There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Swiss Central (0-3) was crushed on the road by top-ranked Monthey (4-0) 86-59 on Saturday. Monthey looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Swiss Central's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jay Jay Chandler III (193-1998, college: USA) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and the other American import forward Markel Humphrey (198-1987, college: Marshall) who added 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Monthey players scored in double figures. At the losing side Rwandan power forward Dylan Schommer (204-1997) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Magnus Obim (193-2001) scored 6 points. Swiss Central's coach Orlando Baer gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Monthey have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Massagno. Swiss Central at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Neuchatel. Monthey will meet at home Lugano (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Swiss Central will play against Boncourt and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
