Regular Season Round 3: Anorthosis - AEL 70-103
Date: October 23, 2022
The game in Nicosia supposed to be also worth to mention about. AEL (2-0) played at the court of Anorthosis (1-2). AEL smashed Anorthosis 103-70. The game without a history. AEL led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Anorthosis to just 7 points in second quarter. AEL shot the lights out from three nailing 21 long-distance shots on high 56.8 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Tray Buchanan (185-1998, college: Emporia St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 7 assists. His fellow American import guard Courtney Pigram (185-1985, college: ETSU, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 30 points. Four AEL players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Zayd Muosa (199-2003, agency: Octagon Europe) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Andre Wesson (198-1997, college: Ohio St.) scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AEL will play against Omonia (#11) in Nicosia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Anorthosis will play on the road against APOP (#9) in Paphou to get more than just one victory in their record.
