The game had a very big importance for second-ranked MBA-2 as it allowed them to take a leadership position. MBA-2 smashed 8th ranked Unics-2 in Moscow 93-70. MBA-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Unics-2's 28 and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. MBA-2 forced 23 Unics-2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for forward Ivan Zimin (191-2003) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Forward Kirill Esipov (195-2002, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four MBA-2 players scored in double figures. Guard Anatoly Gunter (183-2003) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and forward Alexander Kalashnikov (196-2002) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Unics-2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. MBA-2 (7-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Unics-2 lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with N.Novgorod-2. Unics-2 will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. MBA-2 will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Unics-2 in Kazan.
