Very expected game when 13th ranked Bp. Honved (1-5) lost to ninth ranked Kormend (3-2) in Budapest 66-74 on Saturday. American guard Wendell Mitchell (190-1997, college: Texas A&M) notched 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Croatian center Marjan Cakarun (204-1990) supported him with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Kormend players scored in double figures. Kormend's coach Antonis Konstantinides used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by point guard Kristof Simon (187-1994) did not help to save the game for Bp. Honved. Bosnian guard Stefan Mijovic (193-1995) added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Kormend moved-up to sixth place. Bp. Honved lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with five games lost. Kormend will meet at home Kaposvari (#10) in the next round. Bp. Honved will play against Alba in Szekesfehervar and hope to win that game.
