Regular Season Round 7: MBA-2 - UNICS-2 80-82

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated MBA-2 (7-1) in Moscow on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by eighth ranked Unics-2 (3-5) 82-80. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of MBA-2. Strangely MBA-2 outrebounded Unics-2 44-30 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for guard Sergey Polstyanov (194-2002) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Alexander Kalashnikov (196-2002) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side forward Kirill Esipov (195-2002, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) responded with 18 points and forward Egor Kryuk (199-2003) scored 6 points and 10 rebounds. Four MBA-2 players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Unics-2 moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Enisey-2. MBA-2 at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with Runa-2. Unics-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. MBA-2 will play on the road against Zenit-2 in Sankt Petersburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
